bring on the BLING

happy Thursday lovers...boy do I have a treat for you today...the end of this post includes a pretty amazing giveaway but first i had the pleasure of getting to know Marisa via twitter & then blogging over the past couple months. I really took to Marisa because she is an independent women running her own business & i love finding working women with a passion for success. So I was super excited when Marisa sent me some stuff to try out. I am really particular with my underwear so I was very curious as to how these would feel & fit. She is such a doll & let me pick which undies I wanted..so I chose these two...how freaking cute are they?!

so I put them on & instantly I knew I loved them! They fit perfectly. The material was so soft & I really loved the spandex feel.  They're very light weight. What I really liked about them was while wearing them they never sunk into my bottom & created a wedgie....TMI?...but that's a HUGE thing for me. The minute underwear do not stay in place around my bottom & start to sink in that's it. I take them off, so it was a huge surprise that these did not move. I even slept in them & they were so comfy, like I was wearing nothing. Not to mention they're so freaking cute with all the adorable lace detail & the little bows in the front.

So adorable right? This is actually Marisa w/ her hubby at the American Music Awards Backstage Gifting Suite...ya know where all the celebrities go to get their swag bags?! Besides the fun & silly writing she also makes a wedding line, which consists of white undies & tanks with Bride, Hitched or Taken on the back, along with some other fun wedding themes, perfect for any bride....Lauren I'm talking to you!  

But if bling underwear just isn't your thing she also makes these adorable shirts & tanks & like the undies the material is SO soft...you know when you find that one plain tee that is just so soft & comfortable that you buy it in every color...well that's how her shirts are...that wonderful...plus there black, pink & sparkly my 3 favorite things to wear!

ok ok enough about how much I love her product why don't you meet the girl behind the bling & hear about some celebrity encounters...

1.) How did you come about starting this business?

It’s actually a funny story. I used to do custom rhinestone designs for private clients. I would decorate cell phones, belt buckles, t-shirts, & even door knobs once. I love to make anything prettier with rhinestones. One day I went downtown to this store that would let me use their heat press. I made a small design, but forgot my t-shirt.  Luckily I still had some booty shorts in my car from my shopping spree the day before. So when I went out to look for the t-shirt I found the booty shorts. I figured why not just put the design on some underwear. It was literally one of the only things I had not bedazzled before. So I brought in the pair of undies (freaking out the 16 year old boy who did the heat press) and asked him to press my design on the underwear. I wore them the next day and my husband's reaction was priceless. “What are those? Those are so cute!!” and that is when I decided that I was going to Bling Out America One Booty at a Time.

2.) Why Panties?

I felt it was a niche that needed to be filled.  So many companies were doing shirts and other things, but no one was blinging undies. I quickly found out blinged booties make everyone happy. 

 3.) Tell us about a surreal experience you've had with your business & a celeb.

I have 2.

I was at a charity event in Orange County.  While we were standing in the reception area Gretchen Rossi came up to me and said "You're Marisa from Star Candy.  I love your line and I wear them all the time."  Gretchen was so sweet and genuine.  She seriously made my night.

The other occasion was backstage at the American Music Awards.  Ke$ha was coming through the gifting sweet talking on her cell phone, and just stopped, and got off her phone when she saw our Star Candy table.  She said, "OMG! I love your line! Especially this one with the $ since I use a $ instead of an S in my name. I would love to rock these on stage sometime". Ke$ha was so friendly and outgoing.  It was a pleasure chatting with her.

4.) What's coming up next for Star Candy?

We are expanding the line.  In fall we will have matching cami's to go with the undies.  We have a bunch of new designs coming out and we are expanding our bridal line.

I cannot wait to see what's next with Star Candy because she defiantly has gained a new client here, I am obsessed! Are you yet?
