You did what?!

Sometimes I forget I'm 27 years old. Its crazy to me that I am already venturing into my late 20s....I still remember turning 21 like it was yesterday......but its funny because i don't even feel 21.
i feel 12.
i find myself wanting to revert back to all my old childhood ways.

via
All i ever wanted to be was older. I could not wait to be an adult......being an adult seemed like so much fun......----> fast forward & here I am in my adult hood yelling at myself for wanting to grow up so fast.
i should have enjoyed my childhood more.
i should have taken advantage of being a kid more than i did.
why was I always trying to be older?
i should have listened to my mom when she told me 'not to rush it'

via
But no use in crying over spilled milk. That time in my life is over.....& with every year you get older you grow more as a person. I can defiantly say I am in no way like the person I was 10 years ago - even 5 years ago.
As we grow we are always learning & changing based on life experiences.
At this time in my life, I feel there is so much I have already learned about life & myself.....Some funny, some serious, some random.....but all of it has made me who I am today at this very moment.
in no way am I saying I know it all......Lord knows i still have a lot left to learn.
but i think at any age we can always teach someone something new----->
so I thought it would be fun to list 27 things I have learned through my 27 years of life that have made me who I am today ----

1.) My Mom is ALWAYS Right

2.) Never forget your manners
3.) Friends will come & go
4.) Always tip your Server

5.) Family First

6.) Don't wear a strapless bikini when you dive into any type of water
7.) Shopping makes everything better
8.) The world does not need to know your every move

9.) Send thank you notes

10.) Don’t Ever. Ever. Drink Tequila.

11.) Life does not revolve around boys

12.) Level 4 Spray Tan is not a good idea….

13.) Its who you know

14.) The mirrors in Nordstrom & Macys are awful

15.) Puking on a cops shoes is not a good idea…

16.) Animals are better than people

17.) Before you know it, things can instantly change

18.) Having sex does not keep a boy around

19.) Don’t watch silence of the lambs in the dark, at night, alone.

20.) Disneyland really is the happiest place on earth

21.) Its inevitable that you’re going to chip your polish right after leaving the nail salon

22.) Less is more

23.) A plain white tee can go a long way

24.) If a boy wants to call & ask you out, he will

25.) There will always be some sort of drama – its life people, get use to it.

26.) Its ok to cry

& lastly

27.) What goes around….ALWAYS comes back around
what have you learned?

Love this post! It reminds me of the 23 for 23 list I made awhile back. I love the one about your mom always being right, because my mom is too! I would have never admitted it a couple years ago, though.
Have a wonderful day, beautiful :)

i, too forget my age and feel like i'm like fifteen again. it doesn't help that most people think i'm in high school. and you're right about mom always being right. i pray everyday that i'm that kind of mom one day :)

Aww I like this. Mom is always right, animals sure are better than people, nails chip before I even walk out of the salon, and for boys? Yeah they just blow.

I forget that I'm 25 sometimes... I feel like every fall I should still be packing up and going off to move into a dorm, lol!

Totally with you on the strapless bikini one.... and don't wear that to a waterpark either. They just don't mix!!

Love this post!!! I can totally identify! Sometimes I feel like the years fly by, yet I still feel like I haven't aged. It's really crazy how different you can feel & change in just a couple of years! I am definitely not the same person I was even 3 years ago. We are constantly evolving and it's really cool when you're aware of it! Your list of things you learned cracked me up! Ps - I thought I was already following you =( I def am now!!!

Could not agree more with every single item on your list! Love it Kelly! xo

I can agree with every one of these! Honestly, I feel more like a kid now than I ever have! I've learned that worrying about everything doesn't help and that life is short. I plan on acting like a kid ALL year next year with my lover. Let's all move to Neverland!!

so many nods of agreement. :) I'm 35 and I still feel like a teenager most days. I don't think that ever changes.

Kelly, this is STRAIGHT up awesome!! And try being 34!!! UGH! Come talk to me then. Enjoy your twenties! And yes, Macy's mirrors are GOD awful. Mom is ALWAYS right. Good friends don't come and go...believe me! And of course, when you are down...go shopping!!! ;)

cynthia said...

I have room. :P hehehe sorry, I couldn't resist. You said Neverland.

These are all so true! Such a great list! And I laughed out loud at the puking on a cop's shoes and diving into the water with a strapless bikini top (yet for some reason I still do this?!?!). And animals are definitely better than people. And the last one is legit so true. SO true. I wish more people would realize it :)

Ohh what a great list! I'm continually amazed at how much I've grown each year when I think back to previous years. I was like you growing up though, I wanted nothing more than to just be older. Ah well, like you said, no use crying over spilled milk.

loved every single on of these! SO SO TRUE! and I totally still feel like I'm 21. Like, I'm old hag status now and that is NOT COOL!!

How lovely! I simply love this post. I've recently started writing more inspiring (hopefully) posts as I always love reading other people's too. I'm only turning 20 next Thursday, but I already feel like time is flying by sooo-so fast. Trying to make the most of it! :)

OMG I LOVE this!!! Seriously. Your list is absolutely perfect, and I especially love that you started with "My Mom is always right" because it is SO true and also something that you do not learn until later, but I definitely wish I had known all along, you know?? haha and yes, tequila is NEVER a good idea. Okay, this list is so great, I may have to copy you sometime. Although, I don't think I could make such a perfectly true list. You pretty much covered it all, girl. Bravo!
And I definitely feel 12 most of the time, too.
Yay for Cali girls!! Following you back :)

#10...unless you're Spanish and it's "in your blood" ;) and omg #15 really?? I have definitely learned friends come and go, but sometimes you need a "big fight/test of friendship" in order to strengthen the friendship. I also learned workign with kids keeps you young :) I don't feel a day over 25, but in reality it is the last year of my 20's
