The 4 Keys to Creating Quick and Healthy Meals to Fuel Your Busy Life

via

The toughest thing about being so busy is that we feel like something's got to give. Many of us think that we should keep pushing through to the detriment of our health, but we need to be looking at it from the other side. If you are constantly feeling run down and having to push through, it is making you feel burnt out, which is why it’s time to prioritize your health. The key is all about ensuring you create those meals that will give you the energy to thrive, but the problem is that we don't have the time to do it! Here are some keys to creating those quick and healthy meals that will fuel your life far more effectively.

Set a Cooking Deadline

Most of us think that we don't have time to cook, so therefore we don't even bother getting a skillet out. But if you look at this delicious cream sauce for chicken recipe, it's all done in one skillet and takes next to no time to get it done. It's all about getting in that mindset that you can cook something in super quick time. There are plenty of other inspiring dishes out there; all you need to do is think about what you can realistically create within your limited timeframe. If you've only got 30 minutes, this is plenty, and even if you've got 15 minutes, this is also plenty, but you just need to start thinking about what you can realistically do within that time frame.

Use the Microwave

Lots of us think that we don't have time to cook, but even if we do, this will result in a mass of mess that will have to be cleaned up! The fact is that you can use the microwave to cook a lot of things! There are also plenty of benefits to using the microwave instead of the oven, for example, you will save a lot on your energy bills! You can microwave a lot of foods, from vegetables to potatoes, rice, and even fish. You just need to make sure that you know how to do it right. This guide can help you find the right meals that work for you and within your limited timeframe.

Have a Few Staple Meals Memorized

If you are trying to get healthy but there's no time, part of the problem is that you’ve got to learn new things. You have used a lot of energy on your working day, and now all you want to do is sit down and relax, so if you take a bit of time to learn a few meals that you know you can keep coming back to, but also meals that you can alter slightly, this will always make the difference when you come back late and you cannot be bothered to cook.

For example, something like scrambled eggs on toast is so easy to do, but you can easily get bored of it. Think about the types of flavors that go well with eggs, which thankfully is almost anything. And you can also benefit from the fact that eggs are so easy to cook. You can pretty much leave them to their own devices for a couple of minutes! As long as you have a few staple meals ready and you are ready to learn these meals, you can take away the headwork that many people associate with cooking.

Craft Your Own Meals!

You don't need to necessarily have meals that come pre-approved! If anything, you can come up with a number of amazing solutions based on what you've already got at home. You should always have the essentials in your cupboard because this will give you a far more solid foundation to create amazing meals that you like even though you don’t have the time to experiment with flavor combinations.

As long as you have a pack of instant microwave rice, some eggs, or a bit of chicken, you can easily make this a flavor sensation by adding some hot sauce, coconut oil, and a wide variety of seasonings in your well-stocked pantry. On those days when you cannot be bothered to cook but still need something quick, healthy, and filling, a pack of microwave rice that you can mix up with a tin of tuna or any pre-cooked meat or non-meat alternative with some seasoning and a little bit of sauce will give you all the energy you need!

Creating those quick and healthy meals may not seem so easy, but these keys can give you the fuel you need to thrive.
