party girls

I always get sad when December is over. Sept-Dec is my favorite time. I love the holidays, the weather & the fashion. When January comes I just feel blah....however there is one thing I do look forward too....& that's the spring fashion! If you haven't noticed yet, stores are already putting out spring clothes along with bathing suits! I get so excited to see what the new colors for spring will be & the style of clothes that will be taking over this season. So say hello to the "it" colors for spring 2013...

via

I'm not gonna lie, I love them. Mint, Coral, Tiffany Green, Grey....i die. Keep your eyes out for those hot colors when updating your wardrobe for spring....& if you're ready to start updating your spring look right this very second check out this ADORABLE & super soft mint sweater from Lincoln Street Boutique

Sweater - $46
Jeans - $160
Clutch - $48
Headband - $15
Jewelry - $12

The sweater is light weight & perfect for a breezy spring day....& complete your outfit with these perfectly destroyed skinny jeans, pastal clutch & simple gold jewelry. As you can see I used one of the 'it' colors as my main item & complimented it with smaller items in a pastal pink color. Because of the color of the sweater & the clutch I kept it simple with nude flats. Remember you don't want to be too 'matchy matchy', so keep with the theme of one distinct color & touches of another color.

If you are interested in purchasing anything I have on you can call 949-705-7753 or email mendy@lincolnstboutique.com. They ship everywhere & let them know MessyDirtyHair sent you! Spring will be here before you know it!

so I can't believe it but my blog anniversary is in 44 days! I can't believe it's almost been a year since I started blogging! When I started blogging no one I knew personally had a blog, so I was starting out brand new in this crazy blogland. However I was super excited when an old friend of mine from college started a blog! we use to work at Abercrombie and Fitch together! We always had so much fun. We hadn't kept in touch after college so when she started her blog we started talking again. It was great to get reconnected again & catch up. Blogging really has done some incredible things for me.

flashback - pictures of us from college circa 2006

So of course I told her she HAS to make an appearance on the mess! It's only natural. I love this girl. We both were big party girls in college always looking to have FUN! She is beyond fabulous & you will lalala love her. So without further ado meet

Hey Messy Gals! My name is Jenna and I blog over at Fitness and the City! I am a San Francisco native and obviously obsessed with two things:  fitness and Sex in the City of course. :) I am a busy, always on the go, working girl, but find the time to be a crazy fitness fanatic.

Running is my therapy and balancing work, boyfriend, social life, eating right and working out is what inspires me. I believe in clean eating, love hitting the gym after a long, stressful work day and a huge part of my life is consumed with half marathon training. I love waking up on a Sunday morning and using yoga as a meditation tool, as well as hitting up the course to master my golf swing! Staying fit is fun, and my blog is about my adventure living a fit lifestyle. :)

It's your last day on earth, what do you?
If it was my last day on earth I would make sure to share it with all of my loved ones. I wouldn't let them leave my side! I would also go for one last run to the Golden Gate bridge from my lovely apartment in San Francisco. Hopefully this day won't come for awhile!

Why did decide to start a blog?
I decided to start my blog because I have an undeniable love for fitness and everything that comes along with it. There is so much knowledge to gain, learn and share about the health and fitness world that I wanted to join the effort of many to help others understand why a healthy life is so important. My goal is to have as many people as I can become interested and feel inspired to live a fit life. Exercise and eating clean has become a lifestyle for me and through sharing and motivating we can all gain knowledge of the importance of eating healthy and keeping fit.

What is one thing we don't know about you that we should?
One thing you dont know about me is that I am a reformed party girl! I have succesfully changed my ways and I have never felt so good about my body and well being! Dont get me wrong, I love a martini or glass of wine once in awhile but alchol is SO disruptive to your health and I have learned to cut back tremendously as I continue on this journey of healthy living. :)

it's funny how we both become reformed party girls, considering all we did was party. its for the better though & like Jenna said I have never felt better! sidenote: if you have been feeling blah, or things just aren't working out for you or there's a tremendous amount of drama in your life take a look at your drinking habits, simply cutting back on the partying/drinking can make a huge difference.

so today Jenna is giving you messy readers a chance to win a $20 AMEX Card for you to spend on whatever your pretty little heart desires! Nothing better than free money am I right?

AND

I will be adding to the pot & giving away 3 nail polishes in the new spring colors!

so you know what to do & if you're new around here I highly suggest being logged into your email, twitter & facebook accounts. It will make your life SO much easier. Also Jenna uses wordpress as a blogging platform which means no following GFC, so you will be REQUIRED to sign up for her emails & I will be checking that you did.

I won't be linking up for copycat Thursday... I need to do some more homework =]

College, oy. There were some fun memories there. A lot of the best were things that were said or just random moments that would otherwise seem unimportant.

My best college memory was when we had a snow day and went out at midnight tromping through the snow everywhere. There was like a foot. The best.

what is your best memory from college?
The time when I met one of my bestest friends! They were trying to get in the organization I was in. She was my favorite of all the new members and it was like love at first sight. haha! ;)

My freshman year of college my roommate and I bought a giant jar of XL picked and a water balloon launder and launched them at the boy's front doors. It looked like there were squished frogs all over the place hahaha!
