Over the past ten years or so, blogging has become a real means of making a handsome living. Many, many people out there are earning a tremendous amount of money from this job, so taking a few bits and pieces from them wouldn’t be a stupid idea. Obviously, the likes of Huffington Post and LifeHacker are the absolute pinnacles, but you can still take little nuggets from them. Smaller but just-as-handy blogs can be studied, too. In order to have a successful blog, the website itself needs to be of a certain standard. It doesn’t need to be the most aesthetically pleasing thing in the world, and it doesn’t need to have all kinds of ground-breaking functions. It does need to look nice on the ease in a simple sense, though. Don’t overwhelm the visitor and don’t make it look like you’re trying too hard. They show up to get more content from you and to enjoy their time – so let them do just that.

Blogging is a genuine skill that you’ll need to master, so take it as seriously as you would in a typical, boring office job! There may come a time where you feel completely drained and bored with the learning period, but seriously, keep at it. Successful people power through the plateau, and the losers give up!
